The Senior Sales Engineer is focused on customers and opportunities in an assigned vertical market and is responsible for identifying product development activities at existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory, presenting Anderson Power products and capabilities of bringing to market new & existing products that fulfill customer’s product development needs. Territory covered will be the Americas and EMEA.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical), (AND) 5 or more years of field sales experience in industrial product sales; (OR) an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in connector sales/applications
  • Experience in material handling industry
  • Experience interacting with customers at multiple levels and functions.
  • Experience in consultative technical sales utilizing a defined selling methodology.
  • Comprehensive sales reporting experience.
  • Cold-calling experience on potential customers.
  • Proficient English language skills, written and spoken word.
  • Excellent written / verbal / interpersonal communications.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills; Attention to details.
  • Ability to quickly learn and demonstrate proficiency with technical information & business processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with differing personalities at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Works well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong action orientation to achieve deadlines and business results.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop new & existing accounts by meeting with prospective customers, identifying applications for our products and capabilities. Primary goal is to grow business in the Material Handling market.
  • Support Director of Sales in supporting our company’s strategy development.
  • Identify qualified opportunities for legacy, new and custom power connectors/products and assist the team and customers engineers to deliver these products.
  • Provide assessment of new customers and parallel markets as well as assisting the development and introduction of new products.
  • Maintain awareness of the product development activities of Material Handling customers within the territory to assist the Regional Sales Manager with the deployment of company resources to maximize closure probability.
  • Establish, build, and expand technical relationships with existing and potential Material Handling customers at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Support activities of Regional Sales Manager, Manufacturer’s Sales Representatives and Distributors within the assigned geography and ensure the company meets revenue and profit objectives through technical support of new and existing Material Handling focused customers.
  • Provide technical assessment of Manufacturer’s Sales Representatives and Distributors; evaluating performance, making recommendations to the Regional Sales Manager & Director of Sales for channel modifications which optimize performance.
  • Work with Regional Sales Managers to follow-up marketing leads within assigned territory identifying product development activities at prospective customers. Including global meetings related to the market, and key accounts.
  • Build and maintain a healthy (as defined by Director of Sales) pipeline of Material Handling projects
  • Collect, integrate and interpret competitive information for use in region and at headquarters.
  • Manage technical and application inquiries from existing and potential customers.
  • Train sales reps and distributor sales in product features, benefits, and applications of our Material Handling products.
  • Participate as a member of a Project Team(s) and/or Cross-Functional team(s) as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
